I want you to come for the meeting at 2:30 p.m, the much-unexpected message poured into my inbox at 12:45 p.m. Since, the meeting was at Noida, so I had to start at that very moment. Packing up my bag and tightening my shoelaces, I paved my way for Gupta Market bus stand. Staring with my myopic vision to every other bus, just to spot NOIDA scribbled in it, I saw some school guys playing with a piece of chalk and giggling. Asking myself, is it a thing to be so happy? I again concentrated on the ‘bus search’.
After waiting for 10-15 mins, a Uttar Pradesh Parivahan Nigam bus arrived and confirming that it would pass through my stoppage, I took it. Although, the bus was jam-packed, but the drive to reach for the meeting on time made me condone that. Just at the instance, when the humid climate and no prospect of getting a seat till Noida was making me irritated, Lal duppate wali tera naam toh bata…, cut through my ear. For the reason that I have a background in Indian Classical music and a strong likeliness for Rabindra Sangeet, Kishore & Lata, it was difficult for me to believe that the song made me smile. Yes, the song made me rejoice the adverse ambience.
I wanted to burst into laughter and dance at the tune of the song but, of course yeh dilli hai bhaiya
By the time I was alighting at the gol chakkar, I was full of life and the song gave me the strength to jhelofy the one-hour long video conferencing with world’s biggest player in video, voice and tele-presence, Polycom.
Very few people can derive happiness from small things and it seems that blogger is one of them.Keep on rocking...God bless you
ReplyDeleteSo, finally u got a reason to smile and that made u happy. U know what, it doesn't really matters how big or small the thing is but how we feel about it. But U R very true while expressing ur feeling that sometime we do forget to realise that how the small happenings of life give immense pleasure to cherish. I should admit that it is again a piece of emotions which is recollected by SUMANA in tranquility amidst the crowded bus...
ReplyDeleteSeems you are in for a marathon, Sumana. The second passage was a lucid treat with the irritation melting and budding into a laugh. I feel that a lot of your boyish touch keeps spilling across your interesting read. That gives an unusually flavored aroma to your read.
ReplyDeleteOn the contrary your blogs seem to be too terse. Readers like us need the mood to go on unabated, so a suggestion would be to make your write ups a bit more long.
Specifically I love the casual description and the day to day topics you bring in your blogs.
The author has a gift of expressing her feeling, that after reading this blog it makes me happy and it reminds me happiness can be found anywhere doesnt matter how small or big things are.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great way of describing things..loved the way you described that scenario !! we all have felt these things at some point or other, but no one can describe this so nicely..you have a bright future Sumana..god bless...
ReplyDeleteWat sud I say?? They told everything.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, happiness lies in small things. I remember all those thousands of moments spent together where despite "jhelofying" lots of bad energy throughtout the day two of us certainly find a reason to smile. That could even include my peeping outside the window in your room on a daily basis or your coming to my room to wake me up, take my name and as soon as I open my eyes I find a smiling face standing by my bed side with a fresh glare in the eyes. CHEERS!!
